Don’t Be Just Another Stooge

I just got an eyeful of a trailer for the Farrelly Brothers’ new Three Stooges movie, which opens in theaters next April.

All the “nyuk nyuk nyuks” are there from more than 50 years ago. And these three guys who stand in for the real Larry, Curly, and Moe do decent impressions of the originals.

But that’s just the problem, isn’t it?

Despite the traditional pokes in the eyes and jabs in the guts, and the fact that these guys all look, dress, and sound like the Stooges, it ain’t them.

It ain’t the real deal.

There’s a lesson here — for both business and life in general.

Stop copycatting.

Be genuine. Be yourself.

Your internet customers aren’t interested in seeing you do so-so imitations of Frank Kern or John Carlton or Jason Fladlien in your emails, blog posts, or sales pages.

Those guys have already got their personal brands nailed down.

And no matter how hard you try, Frank Kern will always do a better “Frank Kern” than you.

Step out and brand yourself as YOU.

Believe me, everybody will be happier. Even you.

See ya at the movies.
