Freedom rocks. Slavery don’t.

I’ve been dipping again into one of my favorite underground business classics — How to Kill the Job Culture Before It Kills You, by Claire Wolfe.

It’s out of print. It was published seven years ago, and nothing stays in print very long these days. But it’s one helluva read, and if you can get your mitts on a copy, grab it. (I just checked with Amazon and see you can get a used edition for a tad more than 80 bucks. Sheesh.)

Anyway, Claire opens her book with this wonderful quote from the late George Carlin…

“Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don’t have time for all that shit.”

That each and every one of us can nod in agreement with what Carlin said is proof that whether you call it “job culture” or “wage slavery,” there’s a problem here to be solved.

Freedom rocks.

Slavery don’t.

Are you working for The Man or working for yourself?

In this shaky economy we’re in, one route is suicide. (Guess which.)

Which leaves you one other choice (besides waiting for the gummint to show up at your door with a check).
