How a Zen master punched my clock

broken clock by stiina-resized-600We have an antique, mahogany bookcase in the entry of our house, and a very old clock sits on top of it.

The clock is a busted family heirloom that’s been frozen at 1:30 for a decade.

Hey, at least it reliably shows the right time twice a day.

It reminds me of the tale about a Zen master who owned a clock that ran slow and never showed the correct time. So the master removed its hands.

Then he painted the word NOW on the clock face.

Pretty clever.

When you think about it, the time is always Now.

In fact, Now is the only time that really matters.

There’s usually no better time than Now.

So what are you gonna do…

About projects unfinished…

Plans uncompleted…

Dreams unfulfilled?

What are you going to do right now, huh?
