This will haunt me for the rest of my life

sobbing-emoticonAll I know about the reality TV show “The Bachelor” is that a whole bunch’a hoochie mamas line up every week to compete for some loser dude’s affection and maybe even a marriage proposal.

Methinks that’s kinda creepy, so I’ve never watched it.

But this past Monday night, Deb and I were whipping through the channels and DID happen to catch the last few moments of an episode.

A gal named Tara was blubbering and sobbing because this season’s “bachelor” eliminated her from the competition, dashing forever her dreams of true love.

“I really thought we had a great connection,” she wept bitterly. “This will haunt me for the rest of my life.”

Gag.

I think Tara and probably every other nitwit in this weekly freak show should have “Drama Effin Queen” stenciled across their goddamn forehead.

Your whole life hinges on the outcome of a TV contest?

Gimme a break!

But I hear this kinda silly nonsense every day. In emails. On Facebook. Standing in line at Starbucks.

“I’ll just DIE if I don’t land that job.”

“I don’t think I’ll EVER make it if I don’t get that business loan.”

Yada, yada, yada.

I don’t know who to attribute this quote to, but it’s perfect…

“Drama doesn’t just walk into your life from nowhere. You either create it, invite it, or associate with people who bring it…”

How much energy are you wasting on worthless drama?

Maybe you should chuck it and really start living.

Or maybe harness those inner demons and get ’em to work for you…in a positive direction.

Whadya think?
