How Labor Day became just another excuse for flag-waving, big sales, and BBQ’s

labor-day-grill-facebook-timeline-coverIt’s Labor Day weekend, and I’d bet if you asked a dozen people what the holiday celebrates, maybe one would have a vague idea.

I’m probably being too generous.

But just in case some smartass TV reporter tries to embarrass you on the street with that question, lemme clue you in…

Labor Day’s got nuttin’ to do with pregnant ladies.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, which also has nuttin’ to do with pregnant ladies, Labor Day “constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

Of course, creation of a workers holiday in 1894 didn’t stop government goons from attacking 1,200 striking coal miners and their families in Ludlow, Colorado, 20 years later. Some two dozen people, including miners’ wives and children, were killed.

My point is, no matter how you slice it, Labor Day began degenerating from the start, turning from a celebration of workers to just another excuse for flag-waving, backyard barbecues, and end-of-summer sales.

Workers — your day-to-day employees — have never been able to really catch a break, right?

Maybe it’s better to just jump off the 9-to-5 treadmill — if you’re not unceremoniously kicked off — and “do your own thing.”

Scary thought. And there are oceans of books to wade through out there that may help you overcome fears, take the bull by the horns, and go it alone as a freelancer, or “solopreneur.”

Some of ’em might even give you a few down-and-dirty pointers on getting your money-making effort started. Or offer some ideas about actual operations and cash-flow.

But that’s a LOT of reading.

And that takes a lotta time before you even get started.

Wouldn’t it be more helpful if you had a simple, short report in hand that you could whip through in less than a half-hour and use as a quickie guide to start generating cash right away?

Well, I’ve got just the thing for you.

I’ve written a short report made up of bite-sized, easily followed chunks that include just about everything I know on getting started, hitting money goals rapidly, and staying profitable.

You can probably read it in 20 minutes.

And you can start making moola right away.
