Kicking ass at 86

blogbadass2-3My mother-in-law Marie is 86 and had full knee-replacement surgery this past Monday.

By Tuesday, she was on her feet.

By Wednesday, she had transferred from the hospital to a rehab facility for a week or two of physical training.

Early Thursday morning, she was fully dressed and ready to take on the day (and massive amounts of therapy).

Some friends and family members are astonished at how fast she’s progressing at age 86. Sure, there’s a long, painful road ahead for her in the next month or so, but we know now that this whole ordeal is gonna turn out great.

What’s my mother-in-law’s secret?

Her intentions.

She intends to continue living alone.

She intends to continue her almost-daily trips to the gym for aqua-aerobics class.

She intends to take a cruise to Hawaii in April.

She intends to vacation in Holland in 2016.

These aren’t simple goals, easily cast aside.

These are intentions, backed by dogged determination.

I don’t doubt for a minute that her intentions will all be met.

What are YOUR intentions?

I don’t wanna hear about what you “hope” to do, or “dream” of doing. I wanna know what you INTEND to get done.

Maybe this’ll help you along…
